Description
An Algerian Air Force Beechcraft 1900D small transport aircraft crashed on 5 March 2026 immediately after taking off from Boufarik Air Base in the First Military Region. The aircraft, carrying a crew of six, went down near the runway shortly after becoming airborne. Two officers were killed in the crash and the remaining four crew members sustained injuries of varying severity. Casualties were evacuated to the Army's Central Hospital. The Algerian Ministry of Defence confirmed the accident and announced an investigation into its causes. The Beechcraft 1900 is an aging turboprop transport used for light logistics and liaison duties.
