Description
Israeli strikes on March 7, 2026 hit the 8th Tactical Fighter Base at Isfahan, the main hub of Iran's remaining F-14 fleet. Initial Israeli statements said several Tomcats were destroyed. Subsequent satellite imagery reviewed by open-source analysts and catalogued by Aviation Safety Network confirmed at least eight destroyed F-14s on the airfield. This row has been revised from an earlier higher estimate to reflect the minimum visually confirmed loss rather than claims about the entire remaining fleet. The strike further reduced the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force's already depleted Tomcat force at its historic Isfahan base.
