Description
On 5 May 2026 a Russian Air Force Mi-8 helicopter crashed shortly after take-off when it lost altitude during its first turn and collided with the ground, according to Russian aviation Telegram channels, which said the crew was killed and that the cause had not been established pending an official inquiry. The location was not disclosed. Oryx records the helicopter as destroyed on the basis of these admissions.
