Description

The three surviving OA-4AR Fightinghawk two-seat conversion trainers were officially retired by the Argentine Air Force at Villa Reynolds Air Base on May 14, 2026, as part of the same ceremony standing down the single-seat A-4AR fleet. The OA-4AR was the Argentine designation for an adapted OA-4M variant included in the Lockheed Martin Fightinghawk upgrade program delivered in the mid-1990s. Of the original four OA-4ARs delivered, one was lost in a fatal accident in 2024. All remaining A-4-series aircraft were assigned to the 5th Air Brigade (V Brigada Aérea) at Villa Reynolds, which has operated the type since the 1960s. Their retirement concludes six decades of Skyhawk service in Argentine Air Force colours.
