Description
A PZL M-18B Dromader firefighting aircraft of the Hellenic Air Force 359th Tactical Air Transport Squadron nosed over while landing at Mytilene Airport on Lesbos on 11 June 2026. The braking system failed to work normally on rollout and the aircraft tipped onto its nose on the runway, sustaining damage but remaining recoverable. The pilot climbed out unaided and was taken to Mytilene General Hospital as a precaution, and was reported in good health. Airport security procedures were briefly activated. The Hellenic Air Force flies the type on the summer aerial firefighting rotation across the Aegean islands.
