Description
The Czech Air Force received its first Embraer C-390 Millennium tactical transport on July 6, 2026, when the aircraft landed in Prague before transferring to the 24th Transport Air Base at Kbely. It is the first of two C-390s ordered in October 2024 under a contract worth CZK 11.3 billion (about $508 million). The aircraft departed Embraer's Gavião Peixoto facility in Brazil on July 4 and completed a 14-hour ferry flight with two stopovers, arriving escorted by Czech Gripen fighters. The type will significantly expand Czech airlift capacity alongside the C295 fleet, adding aerial refueling capability. The second aircraft is expected in 2027-2028.
