Botswana Defence Force C-130H Ordered

The United States confirmed Botswana's acceptance of an additional C-130H Hercules under the US Air Force Excess Defense Articles programme, the US Embassy in Gaborone announced on 30 July 2026. The donation follows a February 2025 announcement that the Botswana Defence Force had been selected to receive the aircraft. It builds on the first C-130H, delivered in May 2024 to replace three retired C-130Bs, and precedes a separate proposal for two further C-130Hs formally notified to Congress in August 2025. No handover ceremony or arrival date has been reported; the aircraft remains pending inspection and transfer logistics.
