Chad Air Force CH-4 Rainbow Delivered

At least four Chinese CH-4 armed reconnaissance drones were photographed on the apron at Abeche Air Base, in the Ouaddai region some 750 km north-east of N'Djamena, on 22 August 2026. The airframes appeared fully assembled and were accompanied by ground support equipment, indicating that delivery had taken place and that the type was being worked up for service. Chad has made no official announcement of the purchase, so the date recorded here is that of the imagery rather than of the handover. The aircraft extend Chadian surveillance and strike reach over the eastern border with Darfur and the northern desert.
