Description
The armed forces of Cote d'Ivoire confirmed on 10 August 2026 that the air force operates Chinese Wing Loong II medium-altitude, long-endurance drones, releasing video of two aircraft at a site identified as Bouake Air Base. The acquisition had first been mentioned by the television commentary of the 7 August independence day parade. The drones were ordered from CATIC under a contract signed in June 2024, and Cote d'Ivoire became the second West African operator of the type after Nigeria. No handover date has been published, so the date recorded here is that of the official confirmation.
