Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 Crash

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the loss of a MiG-29 during a combat mission against Russian aerial targets over Odesa Oblast on the evening of 10 August 2026. According to the service's preliminary account, an abnormal situation developed during the launch of an air-launched missile, after which the aircraft caught fire. The pilot attempted to regain control before ejecting, and was recovered and taken to a medical facility. An investigation into the cause is under way. It is the second Ukrainian MiG-29 lost on a combat mission in 2026, after the aircraft that went down over Poltava Oblast on 27 June.
