Description
A Mali Air Force Beechcraft 1900C on a routine liaison flight made a forced landing in open ground roughly two kilometres from the runway at Tombouctou Airport on 17 August 2026, shortly after take-off. According to the General Staff of the Malian armed forces, one of the two engines failed during the initial climb and the crew put the aircraft down immediately. Three crew and sixteen passengers, including three children, were on board; nobody aboard or on the ground was injured. Emergency teams secured the site and an investigation was opened. The Aviation Safety Network lists the airframe's damage as undetermined, so a write-off has not been confirmed.
