Italian Air Force Eurofighter Damaged

An Italian Air Force F-2000A Eurofighter, one of four deployed to Saudi Arabia, was hit during a Houthi attack on King Fahd Air Base at Taif overnight on 17-18 September 2026, the Italian Defence Ministry said. The Defence Minister said the aircraft had been parked in a decentralized area of the base and that no Italian military personnel were involved, adding that no other vehicles or infrastructure used by the contingent were damaged. Rome did not disclose the extent of the damage, describing the aircraft only as having been hit, so the airframe is not recorded here as lost. The four jets deployed in March 2026 with Task Force Air - Arabia.
