Republic of China Air Force T-5 Delivered

Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation delivered the last two T-5 Brave Eagle advanced jet trainers, numbered 1165 and 1166, to the Republic of China Air Force Academy at Gangshan, Kaohsiung, with the company chairman flying one of them from the Shalu plant in Taichung. The handover completed production of all 66 aircraft ordered under the programme launched in 2017, fourteen of them delivered in 2026. The air force operates 65, one having been lost off Taitung in February 2025. Derived from the F-CK-1 Ching-kuo fighter, the Brave Eagle replaces the AT-3 and the F-5E/F in advanced and lead-in fighter training, and AIDC now moves to life-cycle maintenance and upgrade support.
