Russian Air Force Tu-95 Crash

A Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber crashed on 29 September 2026 during a training flight in the Amur region of Russia's Far East, the Russian Defence Ministry said, adding that the aircraft came down in an uninhabited area and was not carrying weapons. According to the ministry, six of the seven crew members were killed and one was injured and evacuated to a medical facility. The Moscow Times reported that the bomber was stationed at Ukrainka Air Base and went down near the village of Krasnoyarovo, about 30 km to the north. An Aerospace Forces commission was sent to the site; unverified reports on Russian Telegram channels cited an engine fire, and no official cause has been given.
