Description
The Royal Thai Army formally accepted four new Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters at a ceremony in Lopburi on 18 September 2026, where the 9th Aviation Battalion announced their induction, according to Janes and Asian Military Review. The battalion is the army's sole Black Hawk operator. The helicopters are linked to a US$1.2 billion Department of Defense contract for Sikorsky dated 28 October 2024 that covered UH-60Ms for several customers, Asian Military Review reported. They join eight refurbished UH-60Ls acquired in 2002, three refurbished UH-60As procured in 2022 and seven UH-60Ms bought in 2014 and 2022, bringing the fleet to 22 aircraft.
