Romanian Air Force H225M / EC725 Caracal Ordered

Romania has signed a contract for 12 H225M multirole helicopters, Airbus Helicopters announced on 7 October 2026. The agreement was concluded with the French armament procurement agency (DGA) and is financed under the European Commission's Security Action for Europe (SAFE) instrument; The Defense Post put its value at about 757 million euros, including an initial logistics support package and crew training. According to Airbus, the helicopters will begin replacing the Romanian Air Force's IAR-330 Puma fleet in conventional and special operations, and the deal extends the company's partnership with IAR, Romania's sole helicopter manufacturer.
