The airport hosts military facilities including the 1 Base Repair Depot and 4 Base Repair Depot, both operating under the Maintenance Command of the Indian Air Force. The 1 BRD is responsible for overhauling the Antonov An-32 transport aircraft fleet, while the 4 BRD overhauls R-29 engines used in MiG-23 and MiG-27 aircraft, as well as M53 P2 engines for Mirage 2000 aircraft. Additionally, the airport is home to the Transport Aircraft Division (TAD) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), which previously manufactured HS 748 Avro aircraft and currently produces Dornier 228 aircraft for the Indian Armed Forces and the commercial market.
