Description
Coveñas Airport is an active military airfield located in the Caribbean coastal town of Coveñas in the Sucre Department of Colombia. The installation was established by the Colombian Navy in 1974 as Base Naval ARC-Coveñas. The airfield infrastructure features a runway positioned directly adjacent to the shoreline, routing northern departures and arrivals over the Gulf of Morrosquillo.
Operated by the Colombian Navy, the installation functions as a Coast Guard station and serves as the training base for the Colombian Marine Infantry (Infantería de Marina).
