Description

Dzyomgi Airport is an air base located 8 kilometers northeast of Komsomolsk-na-Amure in Khabarovsk Krai, Russia. The formation of the 60th Fighter Aviation Regiment began at the airfield on May 7, 1939. From 2000-2001, the base became home to the 23rd Fighter Aviation Regiment (23 IAP), which operates Sukhoi Su-30M2/SM and Sukhoi Su-35S aircraft under the 303rd Composite Aviation Division. Following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the regiment was granted Guards status, becoming the 23rd Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment. The 60th Fighter Aviation Regiment (60 IAP) was active at this airfield from 1945, flying Su-27 aircraft from June 1985, and was part of the 8th Air Defence Corps of the 11th Independent Air Defence Army before merging into the 23rd Fighter Aviation Regiment.

The airport also hosts a major Sukhoi plant (GAZ 126), established in 1934, where Sukhoi Su-7 and later models have been manufactured. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger jet was unveiled here in September 2007, and the Sukhoi PAK FA (T-50) stealth fighter jet began production at Dzyomgi Airport in January 2010. The airfield functions as the factory airfield for the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant (KnAAPO). Satellite imagery from 2006 showed over 40 interceptor aircraft on alert pads across the airfield.
