Description
Přerov Air Base is located in the Bochoř district, 4.5 km from Přerov in central Moravia. The facility transitioned from a military installation to a domestic public and international non-public airport on October 1, 2013. The state enterprise LOM Praha operates the site, which connects to a combined transport terminal and a public logistics center.
The base served as the station for the 23rd Edvard Beneš Helicopter Air Base until the unit's disbandment on December 31, 2013. Following this, its assets and responsibilities were transferred to the 22nd Helicopter Air Base at Náměšť nad Oslavou. Historical aircraft hosted at the facility include MiG-21 fighters and Mi-24 helicopter gunships. The base also supported operations for heavy transport aircraft, including the Antonov An-124 Ruslan, Ilyushin Il-76, and C-130 Hercules.
Infrastructure includes a 2,500 m concrete runway and a secondary 840 m grass runway. The airport provides refueling services for AVGAS 100LL and JET A1.
