Description
Saratov West is an air base located 12 km west of Saratov, Russia. It was built in 1940 and has been in continuous use since then. The air base is owned by the Ministry of Defence and operated by the Russian Aerospace Forces, serving as a military training airfield. The 131st Training Helicopter Regiment, part of the Zhukovsky – Gagarin Air Force Academy, is stationed at this base.
