Description

Ukrainka, also known as Ookrainka and Seryshevo, is a strategic Long Range Aviation base located in Ukrainka, Amur Oblast, Russia. It is situated 28 km north of Belogorsk and 8 km north of the town of Seryshevo. The base functions as a nuclear bomber base, equipped with large tarmacs and approximately 40 revetments. It is owned by the Ministry of Defence, operated by the Russian Aerospace Forces, and controlled by Long-Range Aviation.

Construction of the base was completed in 1955, and it has been in continuous use since then. In 1955, Ukrainka was one of six Soviet bases capable of accommodating the Myasishchev M-4 bomber. The Tupolev Tu-22 operated from the base during the 1960s-1970s. By the 1980s, the fleet included Tupolev Tu-95K22 and Tu-95K aircraft. By 1994, all earlier Tu-95 variants were replaced by the Tu-95MS. In 1998, the base housed Tu-95MS16 and Tu-95MS6 aircraft.

Units stationed at Ukrainka include the 79th Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment and the 182nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment, both assigned to the 326th Heavy Bomber Aviation Division. Historically, the 73rd Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment and the 40th Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment were also stationed here. The 326th Heavy Bomber Aviation Division headquarters moved to Ukrainka in 1998.
