AMR-2

The AMR-2 was developed in China as an anti-materiel sniper rifle and introduced in the early 2000s. Design and development were carried out by Sichuan Huaqing Machinery Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of China South Industries Group.

The AMR-2 uses a conventional bolt-action mechanism. Cartridges are fed from a detachable box magazine located directly ahead of the trigger group. The barrel is free-floating and terminates in a large double-baffle muzzle brake intended to reduce recoil. The rifle is normally fitted with a side-folding buttstock with an adjustable cheekpiece, a folding bipod, and a detachable monopod beneath the butt. Sighting equipment consists of open iron sights on folding bases, with a Picatinny rail provided for telescopic or night sights.
