CZ Scorpion Evo 3

The CZ Scorpion Evo 3 is a firearm platform manufactured by Česká zbrojovka Uherský Brod in the Czech Republic. It evolved from a Slovak prototype submachine gun developed by Laugo, with serial production commencing in 2009. The "EVO 3" designation indicates that the weapon represents the third generation of CZ's line of small submachine guns, which began with the Škorpion vz. 61, though the two designs are mechanically unrelated.

This blowback-operated firearm is constructed primarily of polymer to maintain a compact profile for use in confined spaces. The design incorporates a left-side non-reciprocating charging handle that can be swapped to the right side during disassembly. The select-fire variant features a folding, adjustable, and removable stock, with a handguard equipped with multiple Picatinny rails for mounting optics, backup iron sights, grips, and other accessories. The semi-automatic variant utilizes a handguard with M-LOK attachment points and a single top Picatinny rail.

The platform exists in two primary configurations: the select-fire A1 submachine gun and the semi-automatic S1, which is distributed as a pistol, carbine, or short-barreled rifle. Entering service in 2009, the weapon is utilized by military and law enforcement organizations. National operators include the Prague Castle Guard in the Czech Republic, the Finnish Border Guard, the Hungarian Defence Forces, and the Armed Forces of Bolivia. The weapon was deployed in combat during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Former operators include the Afghan National Army Commando Corps. A planned procurement of the A1 variant by Hong Kong was canceled by the Czech government due to US Executive Order 13936.
