Description
The IRGC Navy's Imam Ali Naval Base sits on the shore of Chabahar Bay opposite Konarak, on the Gulf of Oman. Chabahar is Iran's only deep-water port directly open to the Indian Ocean, which places it outside the Strait of Hormuz and beyond the chokepoint that constrains the rest of the fleet. The port, its vessels and its air and drone facilities were struck on 28 February and 5 March 2026.
