Description
Ropucha-class large landing ship destroyed on 13 September 2023 by British-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles while undergoing maintenance in dry dock at the Sevmorzavod shipyard in Sevastopol. Satellite imagery showed everything above the main deck burned out. The UK Ministry of Defence assessed the vessel as "almost certainly functionally destroyed" and beyond economical repair. Commissioned in 1983, Minsk had a displacement of approximately 4,000 tonnes and could carry 10 main battle tanks or 450 tonnes of cargo.
