Description
Project 1239 Sivuch-class (NATO: Bora) missile hovercraft Samum struck on 14 September 2023 by a Ukrainian SBU "SeaBaby" uncrewed surface vessel near the entrance to Sevastopol Bay. The drone hit the rear starboard side, causing significant damage and loss of propulsion. The vessel was towed away listing to starboard. One of only two Bora-class hovercraft in the Russian Navy, Samum can reach speeds of 55 knots and carries eight Moskit supersonic anti-ship missiles. The attack occurred just one day after the devastating Sevmorzavod shipyard strike.
