South Korea Navy ROKS Chungnam Delivered

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries delivered the frigate Chungnam (FFG-828) to the Republic of Korea Navy on 18 December 2024 at its Ulsan headquarters, Naval News reported. She is the first of six 3,600-tonne frigates of the Ulsan-class Batch-III project, contracted in March 2020, launched in December 2022 and delivered after nearly two years of trials and evaluations. The 129-metre ship has a hybrid propulsion system, a 30-knot top speed, an integrated sensor mast with a four-faced phased-array radar giving 360-degree coverage, the Korean Vertical Launching System and anti-submarine sonars, according to the same report.
