China Navy Qinzhou Commissioned

Commissioned in April 2025 as the second Type 054B frigate, Qinzhou was assigned to the South Sea Fleet. Her commissioning just three months after lead ship Luohe confirmed the rapid series production of the new class. The Type 054B features a redesigned superstructure with reduced radar cross-section, an integrated mast housing four phased-array radar panels, and a hangar sized for the Z-20 naval helicopter. The class is expected to eventually replace the older Type 054A frigates as the PLAN's primary escort vessel.
