Description
HMCS Frédérick Rolette was commissioned into the Royal Canadian Navy in June 2025, the fifth of six Harry DeWolf-class Arctic and offshore patrol vessels built by Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax. Delivered in August 2024 and named in a ceremony the previous May, the 103-metre, 6,600-tonne ship is ice-capable to Polar Class 5 and can operate independently in first-year ice up to a metre thick. The class supports Arctic sovereignty patrols, fisheries enforcement and constabulary operations, and the ship honours a naval officer of the War of 1812.
