Description
USNS Fall River was deactivated and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 9 June 2025, after only about ten years of service, having been held in a 45-day reduced operating status since August 2021. She was one of four Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transports -- alongside Spearhead, Choctaw County and Millinocket -- retired early from Military Sealift Command service as the Navy scaled back the class's role. Built by Austal USA and accepted into service in September 2014, Fall River had supported partner-nation exercises including the Southern Partnership Station program in the Caribbean and Central America.
