South Korea Navy ROKS Hyangnobong Damaged

A fire broke out in the auxiliary engine room of the tank landing ship ROKS Hyangnobong (LST-683) at about 15:49 on 31 July 2025 as she was docking at the naval base in Jinhae, Changwon, The Korea Times reported; crew members were taken to a naval hospital with burns and smoke inhalation, according to the same report. About 180 people were aboard. Hyangnobong is one of the four Go Jun Bong-class tank landing ships built for the Republic of Korea Navy in the 1990s.
