Norway Navy ex-KNM Bergen Sunk

The decommissioned Oslo-class frigate ex-KNM Bergen was sunk as a target off Gryllefjord in northern Norway in early September 2025, when a U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit bomber escorted by Norwegian F-35As dropped a Quicksink-modified GBU-31 guided bomb in a test on 3 September 2025, according to Royal Norwegian Air Force imagery reported by The War Zone and High North News. The wreck lies in about 125 metres of water in what fishing organisations called an important fishing ground, High North News reported, prompting objections from fishers and environmental groups. Bergen, decommissioned in 2005, had long served as a target hulk; the sinking removed no hull from the current fleet.
