Description
Commissioned in October 2025 as the first of the sixth production batch of Type 054A frigates, the variant analysts designate Type 054AG. Launched at Huangpu Wenchong in August 2024, the ship carries a 100 mm H/PJ-87 main gun in place of the earlier 76 mm weapon, a lengthened stern and an enlarged hangar sized for the Z-20F anti-submarine helicopter. Hull markings were completed in October 2025 and Chinese state media formally confirmed the commissioning in February 2026. Fuyang is assigned to the Eastern Theater Command Navy.
