Description
Damaged alongside sister ship Admiral Essen during the overnight Ukrainian drone strike on Novorossiysk on 2 March 2026. Ukraine's General Staff confirmed damage to both Admiral Grigorovich-class frigates on 6 March following additional analysis. Admiral Makarov is the third and final ship of the class in the Black Sea Fleet. The strike was part of a broader operation that hit five warships, killed three Russian sailors, and wounded 14 at the base.
