United States Navy USNS Pomeroy Retired

The Watson-class large medium-speed roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Pomeroy (T-AKR 316) was removed from active service on 1 April 2026 and transferred to the Maritime Administration for long-term management and eventual disposal, one of thirteen ships in the Navy's fiscal 2026 inactivation plan. The Watson class was built in the 1990s to preposition and surge-lift Army equipment, each hull able to carry a full armoured task force. Two sister ships, USNS Watkins and USNS Red Cloud, were scheduled for inactivation later in the same fiscal year.
