Designed by the Warship Design Bureau and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders in Mumbai, Mahendragiri was delivered on 30 April 2026 with around 75 percent indigenous content. The frigate features advanced stealth characteristics and integrated modular construction, and is armed with BrahMos anti-ship cruise missiles and Barak-8 surface-to-air missiles, providing anti-air, anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare capabilities. Named after the Mahendragiri mountain range in the Eastern Ghats, she joins sister ships commissioned since January 2025.
