Description
Sunk in the port of Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Krai, overnight on 13-14 July 2026 by a Ukrainian Sargan-3000 unmanned surface vessel, in a strike claimed by Ukraine's Naval Forces. Casualties were reported among the crew, and satellite imagery released by the Ukrainian Navy confirmed a large breach on the starboard side of the vessel, which settled at its mooring. A Project 22460 Rubin-class patrol ship of about 630 tonnes, Izumrud was commissioned in 2014 and operated by the FSB Border Service in Crimea. The ship took part in the November 2018 seizure of Ukrainian naval vessels near the Kerch Strait.
