Description

Struck by a Ukrainian long-range attack drone on the night of 25 July 2026 in a Security Service of Ukraine operation across the Caspian Sea basin. The same wave hit the sanctioned cargo ships Port Olya 2 and Begey, both used to move military cargo between Iran and Russia, and an oil platform at the Filanovsky field. The SBU confirmed the strikes; no damage assessment for the boat was released. Stupinets is a Project 12418 Molniya missile boat assigned to the Caspian Flotilla, a Kh-35 Uran-armed derivative of the Soviet Project 1241 Tarantul design. Launched at the Vympel yard in Rybinsk on 29 July 2024 from a hull laid down in 2016, it was still running builder's sea trials and had not been commissioned when it was struck.
