United States Navy USS Fort Worth Retired

Decommissioned at Naval Base San Diego on 29 July 2026 in a ceremony marking nearly 14 years of service. Congress authorised the retirement in the defence appropriations bill signed on 3 February 2026, which permitted the inactivation of a single littoral combat ship, and the Navy said the savings would be redirected to sustaining the remaining hulls. Commissioned at Galveston, Texas on 22 September 2012, Fort Worth was the second Freedom-variant LCS and completed one 18-month rotational deployment to Singapore between December 2014 and July 2016. It later served as an in-port technology test bed at San Diego.
