Description
INS Mangrol (P82) was commissioned at Naval Dockyard Mumbai on 12 October 2026, The Tribune reported. Delivered by Cochin Shipyard at Kochi in August, she is the third of eight Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow water craft, part of a sixteen-ship programme split between Cochin Shipyard and Garden Reach Shipbuilders. With more than 80 percent indigenous content, the craft carries a hull-mounted sonar, low-frequency sonar, lightweight torpedoes and anti-submarine rockets, can lay mines, and is driven by three diesel-powered waterjets.
