People's Liberation Army Air Force J-7 Fishcan Crash

A People's Liberation Army Air Force J-7 fighter crashed into a residential area of Laohekou, Xiangyang, Hubei province, on 9 June 2022 during a training flight. CNN, citing state media Xinhua, reported that the pilot ejected with minor injuries, one resident was killed, two others were injured and several houses were damaged by the fire. The PLA did not give a cause, and authorities said the crash was under investigation. Aviation Safety Network places the crash near Laohekou air base during initial climb.
