Colombian Army UH-1H/N Crash

A Colombian Army UH-1N helicopter crashed in a residential area of Quibdó, the capital of Chocó department in the country's Pacific northwest, and all four military personnel aboard were killed. No casualties were reported on the ground, and local accounts credited the crew with steering the aircraft away from housing. The army opened an investigation into the cause. The UH-1N is a twin-engined member of the Huey family used by Colombian Army aviation for troop movement, resupply and casualty evacuation in regions with few roads, where armed groups remain active and helicopters carry much of the army's mobility.
