United States Army S-70/EH/HH/MH/UH-60 Crash

Two United States Army HH-60 Black Hawk medevac helicopters collided near Cadiz, in Trigg County, Kentucky, during a night training exercise, and all nine soldiers aboard the two aircraft were killed. The helicopters belonged to the combat aviation brigade of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell and were flying a multi-ship mission using night vision devices. Five soldiers died in one aircraft and four in the other. An investigation was opened into the cause, and the accident was among the deadliest United States Army aviation losses in more than a decade.
