Polish Air Force MiG-29 Transfer

Poland transferred four MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, the first batch of a donation announced earlier in March, the Polish presidency confirming that the aircraft had arrived. Poland held the largest MiG-29 fleet in NATO, assembled from aircraft inherited at the end of the Cold War and later acquired second-hand from Germany and the Czech Republic, and was progressively replacing the type with F-16s and newly ordered FA-50 and F-35 aircraft. The donation was coordinated with a parallel Slovak transfer and was among the first deliveries of combat aircraft to Ukraine by a NATO member.
