Description
A Myanmar Air Force H120 training helicopter crashed on the Bago Plateau near Lewe Township, south of Naypyidaw, during a training flight. The military attributed the accident to a sudden engine failure, and both occupants, an instructor and a trainee, were killed. The airframe was recorded as an EC120B Colibri and written off, although the type was not confirmed in the first accounts from the area. The H120 is a single-engine light helicopter used by the air force for ab initio rotary-wing training, a role in which it succeeded older piston-engined types in a small and lightly documented fleet.
