Polish Air Force Saab 340 Ordered

Poland signed a contract with Saab for two Saab 340 airborne early-warning aircraft, together with ground equipment and in-country logistics and support, in a deal worth about 600 million Swedish kronor. The manufacturer said the order would provide a rapidly available airborne surveillance capability, with deliveries planned across 2023 and 2024. The aircraft are second-hand turboprop airframes fitted with the Erieye active electronically scanned radar in a dorsal beam, and their purchase gave the Polish Air Force its first airborne early-warning platform at a time of heightened surveillance demand on NATO's eastern flank.
