Israel Air and Space Force CH-53/K Ordered

The United States Navy's Lot 7 and Lot 8 CH-53K award included eight helicopters for Israel through the Foreign Military Sales programme, bought alongside twenty-seven aircraft for the United States Marine Corps in a single thirty-five-helicopter contract action. The eight machines supplemented four already placed under contract in 2022, bringing Israel's firm CH-53K total to twelve, with an option held over six more. Deliveries were scheduled to begin from 2026. The type will replace Israel's long-serving CH-53 Yasur fleet, which has flown heavy-lift and special-operations missions since the 1960s.
