Slovenian Armed Forces C-27J Ordered

Leonardo and the Italian national armaments directorate signed a contract to supply the Slovenian Ministry of Defence with a second C-27J Spartan Next Generation tactical transport, together with logistics and training support, at a reported cost of about 45 million euros. The purchase runs through the government-to-government agreement concluded between Italy and Slovenia in 2021, under which the first Slovenian Spartan was delivered a month later. The aircraft are operated by the 15th Aviation Regiment at Ljubljana Brnik and can be fitted with roll-on, roll-off mission kits including a firefighting system, giving Slovenia an airlift capability it had previously lacked.
