Royal Netherlands Air Force C-390 Ordered

Embraer formalised the sale of nine C-390 Millennium transports to the Netherlands and Austria on 22 July 2024, Reuters reported, with five aircraft for the Royal Netherlands Air Force and four for Austria. The Netherlands selected the type in 2022 to replace its C-130H Hercules, in a programme valued at about 1.7 billion euros, and signed a memorandum of understanding with Austria in April 2024 under which Vienna adopted the Dutch configuration. The Dutch state secretary for defence said in June 2024 that the first delivery had slipped from 2026 to the end of 2027 because of the joint procurement, with the full fleet due before 2030.
